SMS Consent & Communication Policy

This policy explains how and when Alert24 collects consent to send text (SMS) messages, what types of messages you may receive, and how you can manage your preferences.
How You Give Consent
By providing your mobile phone number through any of the methods below, you give explicit permission for Alert24 to send you SMS messages:
Account Signup & Settings
When you enter your phone number in your Alert24 account settings and enable SMS notifications, you consent to receive text messages related to your monitors and status pages. An unchecked checkbox for SMS consent is presented separately from other agreements.
Requesting Alerts
If you configure SMS as a notification channel for your monitors, you consent to receiving status change alerts, incident updates, and maintenance reminders via text message.
Keyword Confirmation
If you reply with an opt-in keyword such as "YES", "START", or "SUBSCRIBE" to an Alert24 message, this confirms your consent to receive future messages.
What Types of Messages You May Receive
Alert24 sends only service-related SMS communications:
- Status alerts: Notifications when your monitored services go down or recover (e.g., "Alert24: Your monitor {Monitor Name} is DOWN as of {Time}.")
- Incident updates: Updates about ongoing incidents affecting your services
- Maintenance reminders: Notifications about scheduled maintenance windows
- Account security: Two-factor authentication codes and security alerts
We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. All SMS communications from Alert24 are transactional and directly related to your use of the service.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on the number of monitors you configure and the frequency of status changes. Typical usage ranges from a few messages per week to several per day during active incidents. You control frequency by choosing which monitors send SMS alerts.
Message and data rates may apply. Contact your wireless carrier for details about your text messaging plan.
Your Privacy
We value your privacy. Your phone number is used solely for delivering the SMS communications you have consented to receive.
We do not sell or share your mobile opt-in data or phone number with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
We may share your phone number with our SMS delivery provider (Twilio) solely for the purpose of delivering messages. This provider is contractually prohibited from using your information for any other purpose. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.
How to Opt Out
You can stop receiving SMS messages at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any Alert24 text message (you can also reply STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT)
- Disabling SMS notifications in your Alert24 account settings
Once we receive your opt-out request, we will send a one-time confirmation message and you will no longer receive SMS messages from Alert24. You can opt back in at any time through your account settings.

Consent Is Not Required for Purchase
You are not required to consent to receive SMS messages as a condition of purchasing or using Alert24. SMS alerts are an optional notification channel — you can use email, webhooks, Slack, and other integrations instead.
Supported Carriers
Alert24 SMS notifications are supported on all major US wireless carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and others. Carrier support may vary.
