British Columbia has adopted permanent year-round daylight saving time (Pacific Time), with the change scheduled to take effect on November 1. We recognize that some community members may have questions about the impact on calendars, devices, and scheduled meetings. UBC IT is actively working with Microsoft and Apple to coordinate the required time zone updates for computers, mobile devices, and calendaring services. We anticipate updates from our vendors will begin rolling out next week. UBC IT plans to provide detailed guidance by October 16 outlining what to expect and any actions that may be required. Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure a smooth transition.

Workday Student Communications Tool – students missing from class rosters

The Email team identified and corrected a mail flow issue affecting email messages sent from some FASmail users to external addresses between September 22, 2026 10:40am and September 23, 2026 10:30am. All queued messages were released and delivered on September 23, 2026 at 10:40am. During this window, email messages that were successfully delivered may have included a “[Non-UBC Email]” banner at the top of the message. In some cases, messages may have been directed to the recipient’s spam folder or rejected. If you sent out any critical email messages from FASmail to an external email address during this window, please confirm with the recipient that the message was received.
